Dr. Santalynda Marrero is a dynamic and highly respected organizational consultant, executive coach, facilitator, trainer, and thought leader. Drawing on her expertise as a counseling psychologist, combined with 30+ years of experience in talent and leadership development, she helps individuals, teams and organizations propel to the next level. Her belief in in the power of storytelling as “data with a soul” led her to co-author the book: The Diversity Calling: Building Community One Story at a Time. Santalynda’s chapter, Living Multiple Realities as a Latina in America, is her compelling story of the myriad challenges faced and possibilities realized through a cross-cultural lens.
Santalynda enjoys coaching across cultures, generations, and levels within organizations sharing defining moments that reveal patterns as a way to move beyond self, or other imposed barriers, to foster successful beginnings, transitions, and dreams realized. As a co-founder of LatinaVIDA she continues to support the advancement of Latinx and other underrepresented talent through planned talent management efforts, mentoring, and coaching across the career spectrum.
Dr. Marrero’s clients are located nationally and internationally encompassing private, public, educational and nonprofit sectors. Fluent in Spanish, she has completed many leadership, diversity and inclusion consulting engagements in Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. She was an invited speaker to the International Women’s Conference at the University of Havana, Cuba in 2018. Prior to launching SM Consulting in 1998 in California, Santalynda held several mid- and senior-level management positions, at Stanford Hospital and Medical Center, Avantek/Hewlett-Packard, Bell Laboratories, and Rutgers University her alma mater. She continues to focus on DEI, coaching, team and leadership development.
